NCLIVE developed an NC Homegrown eBook collection focused on North Carolina-based publishers. Launched in 2015, this program is available to over 200 libraries around the state and features simultaneous use eBooks from publishers such as UNC Press, Workman Publishing, and Duke University Press.
Ebook Technology Partnership
NCLIVE took control of their own eBook licensing, but rather than assuming the costs and challenges of maintaining eBook technology in-house, they use a branded version of BiblioBoard to load their own licensed eBooks and deliver this resource statewide.
NCLIVE has successfully built direct relationships with publishers around the state to provide this rich local resource in a sustainable manner.
Resource Sharing and Community Publishing
Libraries across North Carolina are currently creating their own community collection(s) with us thanks to NCLIVE and their help with subsidizing member libraries that are working to engage their local creative communities.
NCLIVE member libraries have created dozens of Community Engagement projects archiving local history collections and crowdsourcing historical photos from local residents to archive for the future.
